  • Aftercare Advice: Skin Rejuvenation
    • After treatment there may be slight redness, swelling and tenderness, also an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the product/injection – the inconvenience is temporary and generally disappears in a day or two. • Bruising is also common after any injections. Arnica gel/cream can help bruises heal more quickly. • Apply an ice pack to the treated area; this will reduce the initial swelling. • Avoid touching the treated area within 6 hours following treatment. After that, light makeup can be applied and the area can be gently washed with soap and water. Should any small lumps appear, you may massage them after 2 weeks, • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours • Stay well hydrated by drinking 2 Litres of water a day • Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat e.g. solarium, sunbathing or extreme coldness for 48 hours. Avoid heavy exercise for 24 hours. • If you have previously suffered from facial herpes, there is a risk that the injections could contribute to another eruption of herpes (cold sores etc.). • If you are using Aspirin or any similar medication, be aware that this may increase the risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection site. • Your 2nd appointment is due 7-14 days after the 1st one. Clients typically require a minimum of 2-4 treatments depending upon the degree of laxity and dehydration on the skin. Treatments are then repeated again 6-12 months later. • Good skin care products with high levels of Hyaluronic Acid are crucial to maintain your skin after Skin Biorevitalising Treatments.
  • Aftercare Advice: Fat Dissolving
    • After treatment there may be slight redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness or itching in the in the treated area. This is a normal result of the product/injection – the inconvenience is temporary and generally disappears in a day or two. Small lumps may also occur and will go over a few days. Contact me if you are concerned. • Numbness and reduced sensation in the treated often occurs and can persist for several weeks/months after the treatment. This always resolves spontaneously with time. • The area can remain tender to touch several weeks after the treatment. Paracetamol or Codeine can be taken, but avoid anti-inflammatory pain killers such as Ibuprofen. • Rarely allergic reactions can occur, in the form of small lumps the size of a 1p piece. If that happens please contact me for advice. • You may apply an ice pack to the treated area to reduce the initial swelling. Massaging Arnica gel into the treated area 3-4 times a day can also help with bruising and swelling, as can a compression garment. • If you have previously suffered from facial herpes, there is a risk that the injections could contribute to another eruption of herpes (cold sores etc.). • Do not wash the area or take a hot shower for 8 hours after the treatment. • Do not expose the treated area to intense heat e.g. sunbed, swimming, sauna, sunbathing or extreme coldness. A sauna before treatment can help to mobilise the fat. If it’s unavoidable to go into the sun, wear SPF 50 at all times. • Avoid heavy exercise for 48 hours after treatment, as sweating will cause you to excrete the solution from the skin, which will reduce the treatment effectiveness. • Eat extra fibre to bind toxins excreted in the digestive tract. Follow a low carbohydrate/high protein diet (such as steamed vegetables with fish/chicken/meat and no bread or potatoes diet) for 72 hours post treatment. This is not mandatory, but will optimise results. • Avoid alcohol to facilitate the liver in the handling of the fat. • Stay well hydrated by drinking 2 litres of water a day for the next week • Following the procedure, a gradual reduction in the thickness of the fat layer will take place. You may start to see changes as early as three weeks after the treatment. Your body will continue naturally to process the injured fat cells from your body for approximately four months after your last treatment. • Depending upon the area to be treated you will need a course of treatments. One treatment will produce minimal results. Treatments can be carried out 4 weeks apart … or 2 weeks if you are having more than one body part treated simultaneously • Weight gain will prevent you from appreciating your full results. Maintaining a healthy diet and exercise routine after your procedure can help prevent this.
  • Aftercare Advice: Anti Wrinkle Injections
    • Try to exercise your treated muscles for the 4 hours after your Botulinum Toxin Treatment (this will work the injection into your muscle) • Do not lie down or do strenuous exercise for 4 hours after treatment • Avoid heat such as sauna, hot baths/showers or tanning for 24 hours • Keep head upright if picking anything up from the floor for the rest of the day • Do not drink alcohol for the rest of the day. • Do not rub or massage the area for at least 24 hours – apply makeup very gently. • Avoid other facial treatments for 2 weeks after treatment • Avoid flying for 2 weeks after treatment • Common side effects include bruising, redness, tingling, swelling, irritation, itching, discomfort at the injection sites, all of which are temporary. 2-Week Review As everyone is different, there can be variations in how each person reacts to antiwrinkle injections. Occasionally an adjustment is required 14 days after your treatment to give your antiwrinkle treatment time to settle. If you have any concerns, please contact me via email or telephone as above.
  • How long do anti wrinkle injections last?
Anti-wrinkle injections are a temporary procedure and have different effects on every individual. Your treatment typically lasts for 2-4 months dependent upon your health, lifestyle and age. After your first treatment you may find that the effects wear off slightly quicker than consecutive treatments. This is normal. As Botox works on the chemicals in the muscles, gradually over time it builds up resistance and creates a longer lasting effect. However, this will take time and your first treatment may only last 2 months. If you maintain your treatment appointments with the frequency recommended (normally every 3-4 months), the duration of each treatment result may last long.
  • Aftercare Advice: Dermal Fillers
    • After treatment there may be redness, swelling and tenderness, also an itchiness sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the product/injection – the inconvenience is temporary and generally disappears in a day or two. • Apply an ice pack to the treated area; this will reduce the initial swelling. The use of oral or topical Arnica Montana may also help to reduce bruising and swelling. • If you are having a lip treatment the initial swelling may last longer. This can last for 7–14 days and the lips may look somewhat uneven during this time. Therefore, the results directly after the treatment should not be seen as the final result. • If you are having filler in the cheeks it is common for the area to feel tender and possibly harder than usual for a couple of weeks. • Avoid touching the treated area within 6 hours following treatment. After that, light makeup may be applied and the area gently washed with soap and water. Should any small lumps appear, you may massage them after 2 weeks. • Avoid make up for 6 hours after the treatment • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours. • For best results, stay well hydrated by drinking 2 litres of water a day – filler is hydrophilic, which means it attracts water. • Until the initial swelling, bruising and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat e.g. solarium, sunbathing or extreme coldness. • You may have another treatment of Filler 2 weeks after this one if required. Any additional products will be charged at the normal price per syringe. • Dermal filler is absorbed by the skin over time. Most clients choose to be treated again within 6 months of the original treatment.

  • Aftercare Advice: AlumierMD Skin Peels
You have just received an AlumierMD Skin Treatment. Due to the nature of these treatments, you should not necessarily expect to ‘peel’. However, you may have light to moderate flaking in a few localised areas for 3 to 7 days. You may also experience residual redness, which lasts in most patients from 1 to 12 hours. It is recommended that you do not apply makeup the day of the treatment. It is ideal to allow the skin to stabilise and rest overnight. However, makeup can be applied, if necessary.
